Biographical Sketch:
1994-Present, Public Affairs Coordinator, Massachusetts Association of Health Plans.
Responsibilities include: Outreach to other healthcare associations and various oranizations to build better relationships between those organizations and the health plans. Create and maintain partnerships to promote the mission of MAHP and resolve issues of mutual concern.
Co-founded and currently co-direct the MAHP/Masspro Reimbursement Program. In its 13th year, the MAHP/Masspro partnership is a voluntary program where Medicare Advantage Health Plans reimburse community agencies that immunize senior plan members at public flu clinics. Reimbursement is limited to the adminstration of the seasonal influenza and pneumococcal vaccine during the fall and winter clinic season.Since it's inception, Medicare Advantage Plans have provided over $1 million in reimbursements to community agencies. This program was presented in 1998 at the conference.The H1N1 reimbursement program was built on the health plans' experience with the MAHP/Masspro program.
