Biographical Sketch:
Michelle Basket is a Health Communications Specialist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Health Communication Science Office. In her present position Michelle serves as the communication lead for NCIRD’s childhood immunization campaign as well as the lead for National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) and Vaccination Week in the Americas (VWA) planning team. In this capacity she assists in developing a national education campaign, technical assistance materials, and website to promote infant immunizations. She also is responsible for collaborating with national and international organizations and selected domestic sites to develop NIIW/VWA media events and activities. She provides health departments, national and regional partners, organizations, and community coalitions with technical assistance on message development and dissemination, media relations, community mobilization, and event planning.
