Biographical Sketch:
In 1981, Mr. Mahkorn began his 28-year legal career at the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Since that time, he has applied the law in a number of specialty assignments including child abuse and neglect, school safety and truancy abatement, restorative justice, consumer fraud, and immunization enforcement. As an active member of the Milwaukee Immunization Taskforce, Mr. Mahkorn has demonstrated his personal commitment to ensuring all children in Milwaukee are properly immunized and protected from vaccine preventable diseases. In 2005, he organized a collaborative effort with the Milwaukee Health Department’s Immunization Program to develop and implement a school visitation program in public schools. The purpose of this program was to educate principals, school staff members, and parents about the importance of timely immunization and state laws governing immunization. The program has since expanded to include private schools and childcare centers throughout Milwaukee.
