Biographical Sketch:
Suzanne Miro, MPH, CHES earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and is a Certified Health Education Specialist with nineteen years experience in both public and private health sectors. Ms. Miro is currently the Health Education Coordinator in the Communicable Disease Service of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services focusing on public health emergency preparedness and response, risk communication, antimicrobial resistance, influenza, and other infectious diseases. She played an integral role in the design and delivery of educational activities and materials for postal workers who were exposed to anthrax in the fall of 2001. Ms. Miro has spoken nationally on health education emergency preparedness and antimicrobial resistance education. In May 2006, she was a recipient of a NJ State Service Award for her collaborative work with the NJ Dept. of Corrections on the development of a prison inmate education video on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
