Biographical Sketch:
Senior analyst for the District of Columbia’s Immunization Information System (IIS) contract. Over 17 years of experience in public health with a concentration in immunizations. Currently shares responsibility for the provider participation and training, daily operation, quality assurance, reporting, planning and program design of the information system. Responsibilities include the following: researching and developing the Immunization Information System (IIS); documenting IIS functions and goals; investigating and recommending improvements to IIS; training staff and volunteers in computer-related skills necessary for utilizing the IIS and associated software (e.g., data base, electronic mail, word processing); supervising technical writing including instruction manuals; assisting in the design and development of enhancements to the IIS; assisting with installing, formatting, and programming computer-related equipment at the central office and remote sites; maintaining linkage to organizations throughout the Washington Metropolitan area, which are interested in assisting with immunization efforts (e.g., Medicaid, Vital Records, WIC Program, child care facilities, schools, and other private and public organizations); developing and delivering presentations on IIS development and immunization rates to various groups; researching, writing, and compiling reports requested by Federal and District government leaders regarding IIS program history and progress, IIS data storage, IIS database structure, telecommunication needs, IIS and Immunization Program budgets, unit cost analyses, and grants; revising data collection forms to maintain consistency with computerization efforts; compiling and organizing ACIP/AAP recommendations and Washington, D.C. municipal regulations related to immunization for incorporation into the IIS.
