Biographical Sketch:
Dr Seward is trained in clinical pediatrics and epidemiology and has 10+ years of subject matter experience in varicella and more than 5 years experience with other viral vaccine preventable diseases including polio, measles, mumps, rubella, herpes zoster and rotavirus. She is a recognized national and international expert in varicella zoster viral infections and varicella and herpes zoster epidemiology and surveillance. As such, she has presented at many national and international conferences on this topic. She has broad experience in surveillance for vaccine preventable diseases and provides annual presentations on this topic to state health departments and immunization program managers. She has published many peer review articles and chapters on varicella and has co-authored peer review articles on measles, mumps, polio and smallpox.
