Biographical Sketch:
Holli Hitt Seitz, MPH, is a public health analyst and social media specialist with the social media content team in the Division of News and Electronic Media, Office of the Associate Director for Communication, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She currently manages components of social media campaigns and media monitoring, and is the team’s blogging subject matter expert. Holli is also the Social Media Team Lead for the Joint Information Center, the communication component of CDC responsible for emergency response, and is helping manage the agency’s social media response to 2009 H1N1 flu. Holli earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Mississippi State University and a Master of Public Health degree in Health Behavior from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She joined the CDC National Center for Health Marketing as a Presidential Management Fellow in July of 2007. Prior to her work at CDC, Holli was a health data analyst and research assistant with the Social Science Research Center at Mississippi State University and collaborated on research projects involving child health, tobacco control, cardiovascular disease, and pain management. Her professional interests include communication theory, health literacy, and interactive media.
