Biographical Sketch:
As Special Projects Manager for Public Health’s Promotions and Public Information Team, am responsible for and oversees the strategic planning, development, and implementation of agency-wide marketing, outreach and public information programs. These efforts are designed to safeguard and improve community health by communicating and achieving high visibility and prominence of Public Health’s services and goals. Oversee the development and production of Public Health’s promotional/educational materials, including providing oversight of agency web site, social network development, all media relations, special events, overall agency communications and community relations development. Over 30 years experience in government communication which includes award-winning marketing, public information and outreach/in-reach projects. Utilized skills in a wide variety of local, regional, state, national and international events, projects and crisis settings. Presented at many regional, state and national conferences. Examples of projects assisted include; Communications Field Support Staff for FEMA’s Katrina’s National Response Team, Space Ship - Communication Coordination, Chairman of the Disaster Services Centers Communications Committee for the 1999 Central Valley Freeze, and is a founding member of the Kern County Emergency PIO Team. Certified training includes; Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Interagency Civilian-Military Institute, Governor’s Office of Emergency Services Specialized Training Institute, Governor’s Office of Emergency Services Specialized Training Institute and Dynamic Graphics Institute of Design
