Biographical Sketch:
Mrs. Herrero has worked at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for nearly eight years. Mrs. Herrero manages the Colorado Immunization Information System program (CIIS) and is responsible for directing registry operations, strategic planning, policy development, staff management and grant/contract oversight. Mrs. Herrero chairs the CIIS Stakeholder Working Group and serves on the Vaccine Advisory Committee for Colorado. Prior to this, Mrs. Herrero worked in the Emergency Preparedness and Response Division as the Pandemic Preparedness Manager, directing state and local pandemic preparedness activities. During this time, she has served as a member of the Governor’s Expert Emergency Epidemic Response Committee, assisted with the Hurricane Katrina response in Louisiana, served as the Secret Service liaison during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was a coauthor of the article 'Pandemic Influenza Triage System' in Prehospital and Disaster Medicine, Vol. 4, Suppl. 1. Mrs. Herrero has also worked in the private industry as a human health and ecological risk assessor.
