Biographical Sketch:
June 2001 – May 2003 -- Intern, Community Health Services -- Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, Lincoln, Nebraska Performed surveillance of communicable diseases in rural and private schools and conducted surveillance of influenza in clinics and nursing homes. May 2003 – Sept. 2006 -- Immunization Surveillance Coordinator -- North Dakota Department of Health, Bismarck, North Dakota Provided immunization and vaccine-preventable disease education to health-care providers. Performed surveillance, controlled outbreaks, and investigated vaccine-preventable diseases.Coordinated the perinatal hepatitis B program. Collected and analyzed data regarding vaccine-preventable diseases and school and childcare immunization rates. Maintained and updated the North Dakota Immunization Information System (NDIIS). Sept. 2006 – Present -- Immunization Program Manager -- North Dakota Department of Health, Bismarck, North Dakota Direct oversight of the immunization program. Responsibilities include grant writing, budget managment, legislation, contracting, reporting, supervision of staff, immunization registry managment, emergency preparedness planning and response, education, promotion, and media relations. Publication: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Emergence of fluoroquinolone-resistant Neisseria meningitidis — Minnesota and North Dakota, 2007–2008.
