2007 – 2009, Cal-EIS Fellow, California Department of Public Health, Immunization Branch, Surveillance, Investigation, Research, and Evaluation, Richmond, CA 2009 – Present, Epidemiologist, California Department of Public Health, Immunization Branch, Vaccine-Preventable Disease Epidemiologist Section, Richmond, CA • Coordinating, analyzing, and assisted in the development of 2 parallel novel, statewide surveillance systems to detect adverse events following the distribution of the pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine • Coordinating and analyzing a 4694 medical chart review to determine the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) prevalence for foreign-born Asian/Pacific Islanders women who gave birth in 2008 and the hepatitis B prophylaxis status of the infants • Participated in the primary response to the pandemic influenza A (H1N1) outbreak investigation through case investigation, data analysis, and development of daily epidemiologic reports • Coordinated and analyzed a review of over 1600 paired maternal and infant medical charts from 33 California birth hospitals to determine the maternal disease prevalence, screening, and infant treatment of hepatitis B, rubella, HIV, group B streptococcus, and 6 STDs • Coordinated and analyzed a survey of perinatal hepatitis B practices and policies from over 250 California hospitals with reported births in 2008 • Participated in 3 food-borne outbreak investigations for the CDPH Infectious Disease Branch • Used SAS to analyze the effects of timing of post-vaccination serologic testing of infants born to hepatitis B infected women between 2000 to 2005 and who were enrolled in the California Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program • Participated in community outreach events for San Francisco Immunization Coalition and the Social Networking Site Campaign for California Immunization Coalition
