Biographical Sketch:
Ken August is a public health communicator with nearly 30 years of experience in public affairs, communications and journalism. His expertise includes media relations, crisis and emergency risk communication and issues management. He has directed the public affairs activities of the nation's largest state health department. In addition, he has managed all aspects of crisis communications efforts, including media relations, during highly controversial events that included a statewide shortage of influenza vaccine and smallpox vaccination of health care workers.
