2009 – Present, Director of Education and Advocacy, The Immunization Partnership, Austin, TX
Provide oversight of all policy/advocacy and education-related activities. Research, monitor, and analyze immunization-related bills/policies. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and decision-makers. Design communication plans, identify marketing strategies, and establish partnerships, in order to maximize outreach and educational opportunities. Provide technical assistance to external stakeholders with respect to immunization advocacy/education. Collect and promote immunization best practices. Develop and administer evaluation plans. Research and write funding requests.
2006 – 2008, Public Health Advisor, CDC, NCIRD, Los Angeles, CA
Supported the Los Angeles County Immunization Program on policy, strategy, organization, and personnel. Provided oversight of policy/advocacy activities, research/evaluation efforts, media/marketing initiatives, collaborative partnerships, coalition coordination, and provider quality assurance. Established goals/objectives, monitored implementation, identified outcome measures, and conducted evaluation activities. Designed and implemented collaborative projects to improve immunization services. Reviewed grant applications, made funding recommendations, and negotiated contracts. Served on the Board of Directors for the California Immunization Coalition.
2003 - 2006, Research Analyst III, County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, Immunization Program, Los Angeles, CA
Spearheaded the African American Immunization Collaborative and Health Rescue Promotora Project, partnerships designed to reduce immunization disparities among African Americans and Latinos. Secured state funding to implement interventions that incorporated care coordination, education, and use of immunization registry to improve immunization coverage. Directed all planning activities, including project design, implementation, and evaluation; staff recruitment/training; budget/contract management; and reporting.
