Biographical Sketch:
1999-present -- Public Health Scientist, RTI International. 1991 to 1994 -- Project Manager, National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), Washington, DC. 1990 to 1991 -- Fellow, Children’s Defense Fund, Washington, DC. Christine Layton, PhD, MPH, is a public health researcher specializing in policy and program evaluation. Dr. Layton has 20 years of professional experience, primarily in the qualitative analysis and evaluation of public health programs and policies. Her research experience has included developing and leading key informant interviews and focus groups with a variety of participants, including health care providers and government officials. Dr. Layton is also experienced in developing and conducting case studies. Her work has focused on broad issues related to vulnerable populations, including women, children, and families. She has developed and led projects examining a range of topics, including those related to adverse perinatal outcomes, minority health, immunization, health care financing, and public health infrastructure. She is especially interested in the evaluation and implementation of public health programs at the community level. Most recently, Dr. Layton’s work has focused on issues related to immunization and vaccine policy and seasonal and pandemic influenza. Dr. Layton has presented her findings at national and national meetings and conferences. Conferences include the National Immunization Conference, and the Elsevire-sponsored Vaccine and Epidemics conferences.
