Biographical Sketch:
Background: * 18 years as a software engineer with a focus on information technology and security. Four years in the health information field. Accomplishments: * Implemented all phases of registry deployment for Kansas county health departments to KS IIS -- finished 8 months ahead of schedule. * Selected to participate in a comprehensive one-year training program in public health for working public health professionals, Kansas Core Public Health, 2008-2009. Capstone project: How an Immunization Registry Can Improve a Mass Immunization Event. * Selected to participate in Centers for Disease Control IIS HL7 Messaging and Data Definition Work Groups. In that capacity, contributed to design of IIS HL7 2.5.1, the next generation of IIS HL7. * Appointed to CDC HL7 2.5.1 Immunization Information System board responsible for responding to questions and comments from the organization, HL7. * Member of a technical workgroup responsible for producing the Kansas Health Information Exchange plan to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
