Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Huffman has worked at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for four years. Dr. Huffman is the Manager of Immunization Community Outreach Programs within the Colorado Immunization Program. She is responsible for public and private immunization provider services oversight, direction, program coordination, and education. Dr. Huffman has served on the Vaccine Advisory Committee for Colorado for 3 years, as well as other national working groups. Dr. Huffman presented at the 2010 American Public Health Association Conference on the topic of Collaborations to Improve Health: H1N1 Impact on School Absenteeism and School Health Services. She is the past-Chair of the National Adult Immunization Coordinators Executive Committee, in cooperation with the CDC. Dr. Huffman has also worked extensively with the Emergency Preparedness and Response Division as the Immunization Program Liaison for pandemic influenza planning. Dr. Huffman has over ten years of experience in the local public health arena as a public health nurse consultant, specifically as a School Nurse Consultant in Boulder, CO. Dr. Huffman received her Nursing Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, in 1997. She also has a Master of Arts in Business Management and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Business Administration. Prior to her work in public health, Dr. Huffman has experience as an Account Executive and Project Manager for Qwest Communications.
