14 years of part-time and full-time experience teaching within baccalaureate nursing programs in Maryland and Oklahoma teaching pediatric, newborn, mother-baby, family theory, physical assessment and specializing in teaching best practices in clinical skills.
6 years of experience as grant Project Director for the Oklahoma Nurses Association and Oklahoma College of Nursing. Developed and trained a volunteer cadre of health care professions, predominately nurses, to respond to disasters and public health emergencies. Assisted in the implementation and training for mass immunization prophylaxis sites.
Grant funding history includes Office of the Surgeon General, NACCHO and AHEC for education and development of volunteers, especially nurses, for disaster preparedness and response and public health initiatives.
Author of text book units on nursing skills, contributing author to a comprehensive pediatric text book. Presented posters at national nursing and disaster preparedness conferences and a frequent podium presenter in Oklahoma.
