Biographical Sketch:
Rebeca Montealegre Boyte is the Latino Health Educator for the Information & Education Section of the California Department of Public Health, Immunization Branch. Rebeca is the point person for leading many social marketing campaigns targeting Latino and adolescent populations, including Preteen Vaccine Week and Vaccinate Before You Graduate. As an active member of the California Immunization Coalition, Rebeca led the development of California’s first Spanish award-winning immunization website, vacunasymisalud.org, which currently hosts the latest information in Spanish about immunization recommendations, vaccine-preventable diseases, and more. Her previous experience includes serving as a health educator for La Clínica de la Raza, a community clinic in Oakland, where she led a team of health educators in conducting a teen pregnancy prevention program in the Oakland Unified School District.
