From Mental Health to Ebola: Tracking Complex and Evolving Health Issues

Three panelists will describe the challenges and best practices surrounding complex health issues. Texas health officials will describe the crisis communication strategies used in developing messages about the first person diagnosed with Ebola virus and eventually the death of that person. CDC staff will describe their “Bring the Brave” campaign, a digital and social media campaign aimed at 18 to 44-year-old women and their challenges of reaching Ashkenazi Jewish women. The CEO of Cactus will discuss how the mental health campaign “Man Therapy” helped educate males about the early physical and mental signs of stress and how to work with this “hard-to-reach” population.
