F5: F-5 The Job Modification Prescription in Preconception and Pregnancy | |||
Many toxic substances with unambiguous repRoductive and developmental effects are still in regular commercial or therapeutic use and thus present exposure potential to workers. Workers in the manufacturing sector, the electronics and chemical industries, textiles, art and heatlh care are at risk of exposure during the preconception period, throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding. This session will examine some of the specific higher hazard work sectors, the reproductive toxicants posing a hazard and intervention steps, including job modification that can be taken to reduce the risk. Determining the need for and implementation of job modification will be presented from both the clinical and employer perspective. | |||
