Biographical Sketch:
December 2008 to Present - Technical Officer, eHealth and Informatics Unit Health Statistics and Informatics Department, Innovation, Information, Evidence and Research Cluster, World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva, Switzerland Responsibilities include managing and coordinating efforts to promote computer system interoperability across the organization and the wider health informatics community, including development and promotion of health informatics standards based on international standards and international guidelines. Serves as authority on international metadata and data exchange standards. Leads activities of the WHO SDMX-HD standard and WHO Indicator and Metadata Registry (IMR). Promotes development of country and international Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and disease surveillance systems. December 2008 to Present - WHO Liaison to ISO Technical Committee 215 Represents WHO in development and interpretation of health informatics standards, providing input from public health and low-income country perspectives. Authors and promotes international standards relevant to WHO mission at regular Working Group and Expert Group meetings.
