Biographical Sketch:
Brian Dixon is a Health Information Project Manager with the Regenstrief Institute. Dr. Dixon has primary responsibilities in the area of health information exchange, including the management of research and development projects involving the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) and the Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE). Dr. Dixon is also involved in the Clinical Decision Support Consortium (CDSC), the Indiana Center of Excellence in Public Health Informatics (ICEPHI), and other research informatics research initiatives underway at Regenstrief. Prior to his current role, Dr. Dixon developed applications and systems for Regenstrief and the Indiana Network for Patient Care (INPC), including tools supporting the standard clinical vocabulary LOINC®, technology supporting the automated electronic reporting of notifiable conditions, and tools for querying large clinical data repositories. Dr. Dixon earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in computer science from DePauw University and his Master of Public Affairs Degree from Indiana University. Dr. Dixon recently completed his doctorate at Indiana University’s School of Informatics. Dr. Dixon has presented at numerous national conferences and published more than 12 manuscripts in leading informatics and health care journals.
