Biographical Sketch:
Ms. Vicki Hohner is a Senior Consultant on Health Information Technology (HIT) and a HIPAA Subject Matter Expert with major emphasis on the public sector. Ms. Hohner has been active in health information systems, privacy and confidentiality for over 20 years and is involved in policy development and national privacy efforts. She has a strong background in health information and privacy legislation, such as HIPAA, FERPA, and 42 CFR pt.2, and in privacy and security concepts, standards, health policies and practices, all with an emphasis on electronic information. She has extensive experience in health data and systems, including involvement with the impacts of HIT, HIPAA and other privacy and security legislation on public agencies, including Medicaid, behavioral health, public health, and social services programs. She has participated in national standards efforts, such as X12, HL7, the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP). She is deeply involved in electronic privacy and security policy, systems and practice. More recently, her activities have expanded to include involvement in the federal ARRA provisions, HIT funding criteria and meaningful use definitions and involvement with the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program and EHR assessment, training, and implementation.
