Biographical Sketch:
October 2008 to December 2009, Lead for Governance, Senior Scientist for the National Biosurveillance Advisory Subcommittee, and Liaison with HHS Office of the National Coordinator for HIT and other national health informatics activities. June 2006 to October 2008, HHS Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology as the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) Program Manager and Sr. Advisor to the American Health Information Community (AHIC) Working group on Population Health and Clinical Care Connections. At the CDC, she previously served as the Acting Deputy Director and Associate Director for Program Development and Integration in the National Center for Public Health Informatics overseeing the development and implementation of public health informatics solutions, strategies and standards that have been instrumental in improving public health informatics at CDC and nationally. These efforts have included leading the Public Health Information Network (PHIN), informatics preparedness and response activities, and guiding the direction, requirements and design of the BioSense initiative.
