Biographical Sketch:
Janet Hamilton is an epidemiologist with public health work experience at the state and local level. She is currently the Communicable Disease Surveillance and Reporting Section Manager, Bureau of Epidemiology, Florida Department of Health. In this role she oversees surveillance program activities for reportable diseases and conditions, syndromic surveillance and influenza and other non-reportable respiratory diseases. Ms. Hamilton serves as the primary epidemiologist responsible for the development of the Merlin reportable disease surveillance system and other systems for capturing surveillance data. Ms. Hamilton previously spent time in the Florida Epidemic Intelligence Service where she focused primarily on conducting outbreak investigations.
