Biographical Sketch:
2007 - Present Florida Department of Health Tallahassee, FL Surveillance Epidemiologist – Respiratory Disease Unit Lead -Assisted with establishing electronic lab reporting in Florida using HL-7 data. -Evaluated data and data systems for epidemiologic usefulness. -Created summary reports and statistical analyses based on electronic case reports. -Participated on quality improvement work group. 2006 - 2007 Naval Environmental Health Center Portsmouth, VA Epidemiologist -Pursued research tasks handed down by BUMED, DoD, and DoN. -Dealt with several large health related data sets including SIDR, SADR, and HL-7. -Evaluated data strings for usefulness using SAS. -Completed several projects relating to Pandemic Influenza and Cancers among service members and their dependents. -Assisted in defining a surveillance system for Pandemic Influenza as it relates to the Department of Defense. -Worked on developing the health surveillance activities of the Department of the Navy. Numerous presentations at scientific meetings including the PHIN Conference in 2008 and the CSTE Conference in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Several publications in peer reviewed journals.
