Epidemiologist (GS-14)
• Provides expert scientific and technical advice in planning and conducting research, development and implementation of standards in area of public health informatics.
• Serves as the CDC liaison between internal and external (national and international) partners for a harmonization of standards to use for specific priorities advanced by the American Health Information Community (AHIC).
• Participates in developing Interoperability Specifications (IS) that identify harmonized standards and provide detailed technical specifications for how those standards need to be used for public health communication.
• Works on development of a framework for development/implementation of harmonized standards supporting CDC Enterprise Architecture (EA).
• Leads and collaborates in the development of policies and programs addressing infectious disease surveillance and a development of national reporting laboratory capacities.
