Biographical Sketch:
Worked in national and local public health services within New Zealand from 1991 to 2005. This work included leading surveillance services for the Auckland Regional Public Health Service. Developed and evaluated a pilot of the first electronic health record based surveillance system in New Zealand. After undertaking the two year CDC public health informatics fellowship based at NCCDHP appointed team leader for Science Development in the Environmental Tracking Branch at CDC's National Center for Environmental Health from 2007 to 2009.
Currently Medical Officer for Environmental Health in the Hawkes Bay District of New Zealand and working on secondment to the Ministry of Health as an advisor to the Population Health work stream of the National Health IT plan.
