Biographical Sketch:
WILFRIDA BIOSKETCH I am a fellow in the University of Nairobi Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (UNITID) Fellowship Programme in Public Health Management. The Programme is in collaboration with University of Washington (UW). I am in the Health Informatics Track. I am currently gaining professional enrichment at International Center for Aids Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP), Kenya. I have been previously a senior officer in charge of ICT in the Salaries Section, Finance Department of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Head Quarter. My duties included analyzing current systems and implementing ICT strategies, systems and network management and administration. I supervised provision of daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure in my section. These included the implementation of Integrated Personnel Payroll Database (IPPD) for TSC Kenya. TSC is the sole employer of teachers for public primary, secondary and technical colleges in the country. My research focuses on the use of computer technologies in HIV/AIDS research. Previously, I have undertaken research on Information Communication Technology (ICT) Application in Prevention, Treatment and Management of HIV/AIDS in Kenya. This was under the Conference stream on The Role of IT and Challenges in Healthcare and Social Services Sector as part of the fulfillment of a Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering (MSC ISE). My greatest interest is in application of ICT in Healthcare in order to improve health outcomes and health service delivery.
