Biographical Sketch:
Ms. Mercer has worked as the Senior LOINC Developer for Regenstrief Institute since 1999. She has more than 25 years of experience in the clinical laboratory domain, and brings that expertise to her work in tracking, researching, and processing new term submissions to LOINC from around the world. She also creates and maintains the accessory content within the LOINC database, including hierarchies, short names, synonyms, and term descriptions. She is an editor of the LOINC Users’ Guide, the definitive documentation about LOINC that has been downloaded nearly 14,000 times since 2008 and has been translated into Spanish, German, Simplified Chinese, and Estonian. Ms. Mercer will present some of the public-health specific laboratory content domains in this workshop, and will be available to answer questions that arise from participants about particular LOINC codes.
