Kathleen Cook manages LLCHD’s Division of IFM that she helped establish in 2003. Currently she develops, coordinates, and administers department budget and fiscal services, information technology, and general business activities. She has 24 years of experience as the department’s CIO and CFO, 31 years of local public health experience, and 29 years of informatics-related experience. This includes program management of 20 or more major information technology projects.
Ms. Cook’s credentials include:
(1) Reviewer for RWJF Information Links grant program; (2) Expert Reviewer of “Knowledge Management for Public Health Professionals” (January 2005 publication of ASTHO); (3) 2004 Recipient of NACCHO’s Model Practice designation for the development and implementation of an Information Integration Process; (4) National Association of Public Health Information Technology Executive Committee; (5) NACCHO representative on the Public Health Data Standards Consortium Board of Directors and Vice President of PHDSC for State and Local Public Health; and (6) Served four years on the NACCHO Informatics Workgroup; (7) External Reviewer for "Competencies for Public Health Informaticians 2009" published December 2009; 8) Designed, implemented and completed "Public Health Clinic Review" for the Health Department clinics—Report published to the Lincoln-Lancaster County Board of Health March 2007; 9) Coordinated community planning and compiled: Health People 2010 Health Objectives for the Year 2010 for Lincoln & Lancaster County Nebraska (January 2000) and Healthy People 2010 Mental Health Addendum (December 2002); 10) 2011 Recipient of NACCHO's Model Practice designation for "Public Health Informatics Sustainable and Strategic. 11) Team Leader for Management Academy Business Plan: Worksite Wellness for Small Businesses.
