Biographical Sketch:
Anita Samuel is a health policy professional who brings a strong scientific background to public health issues. She is currently a senior analyst for public health informatics with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). Prior to her time at ASTHO, Ms Samuel worked as a project specialist for eBITS, a multi-million dollar federally-contracted IT corporation, liaising with small medical practices on electronic medical records systems implementation. She has spent time working on political mobilization and policy research respectively at UNAIDS and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Before undertaking her MPH at George Washington University, Ms Samuel spent six years working in a variety of molecular genetics laboratories, ranging from academic to diagnostic, on a range of pathological and population health related issues.
