Biographical Sketch:
2008-present -- Surveillance Epidemiologist, CDC, Influenza Division 2007-2008 -- Program Consultant - Injury Prevention Section, GA Division of Public Health 2004-2007 --District Epidemiologist - Health Assessment - Cobb & Douglas Public Health Responsible for managing the WHO -NREVSS national laboratory surveillance system for the CDC Influenza Division (2008-present). Serves as a liaison between CDC and Public Health Laboratorians and cooperating partners to ensure the timely reporting of flu data (2008-present). Provides technical assistance to state laboratories for influenza surveillance (2008-present). Guides implementation of the electronic laboratory surveillance message (ELSM) for the Public Health Lab Interoperability Project (PHLIP), the first usage of PHLIP HL7 data by CDC (2008-present). Experience in several types of public health agencies, including local government, state government, federal government and private non-profits. Presented in a wide variety of settings, from interacting locally with the public to presenting at national conferences and professional associations. Responsible for the administration, implementation, and evaluation of several grant-based prevention programs in chronic disease and injury.
