Biographical Sketch:
Sunanda (Shu) McGarvey has been a Project Manager and Business Analyst in the domain of Information Technology for over 25 years. She has worked in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, environmental and chemical laboratories, manufacturing, distribution and financials. She has consulted at the state, local and national levels and has seven years of experience implementing laboratory information management systems. With Northrop Grumman, Sunanda has been working in public health as a contractor to the CDC for 9 years. She was the team lead for PHIN Preparedness Functional Requirements, the lead business analyst for the Pre-Event Vaccination System, and an integration business analyst on BioSense Real Time. She participated in the flu vaccine shortage in 2004/2005 and the 2003 Monkey Pox investigations. For two years she served as lead staff for the AHIC Population Health and Clinical Care Connections workgroup working collaboratively to guide the development of population health recommendations for health information technology. Shu was the Operations Manager, Developer, and Business Analyst for the National Public Health Surveillance and Biosurveillance Registry for Human Health (NPHSBR), and is currently the Project Manager for the CSTE/CDC ELR Task Force. From 2003 – 2006 she was on the core team organizing and managing the Public Health Information Network (PHIN) conference, where she developed the conference program, presented and moderated sessions.
