The NEDSS Stakeholders meeting will provide state and territorial NEDSS representatives and CDC programs the opportunity to learn about organizational changes and direction of national notifiable disease surveillance supported by the NEDSS initiative. In addition, in light of Meaningful Use stage 1, states and territories will be able to share key issues and best practices regarding their most recent programmatic and technical experience in receiving and processing ELR between existing and new trading partners.
The NEDSS stakeholders meeting will be followed by a half-day NEDSS-Based System (NBS) consultancy meeting from 1:00 to 5:00 pm in the afternoon. The goal of the meeting is to gather input about the future direction of the NBS and to further define best practices in promoting standards-based approach for electronic disease surveillance.
