Biographical Sketch:
Emory Meeks obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from Georgia State University. Mr. Meeks was employed as a microbiologist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 1986, where he joined the Division of Viral and Rickettsial Diseases, Hepatitis Branch. His main area of work was the molecular characterization of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) and various quasi-species associated with HCV infection. During the Anthrax attacks of 2001, Mr. Meeks transitioned to the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program, where he served as Team Leader for the Bioterrorism Cooperative Agreement’s Biological Laboratory Capacity Technical Consultant team. He now serves as the Enterprise Laboratory Systems Coordinator in the National Center for Public Health Informatics, where he oversees the LRN Results Messenger (LRN RM) and the Specimen Tracking And Results Reporting System (STARRS) projects. Mr. Meeks has been with the Federal Government for 20 years of service.
