Thomason General Hospital, El Paso County Hospital District, El Paso, TX Responsible for developing implementation plans for the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS), based on 2007 Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) position statements relevant to nationally notifiable conditions. Collaborating with CSTE to develop and implement a state reportable conditions assessment. Assisting with planning and implementing the transition of the Nationally Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (NNDSS), which is undergoing a change in reporting from a legacy message format to the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) message format, and is also helping to establish a NNDSS Data Mart, based on data in the NEDSS format. Assigned as an EIS officer at the Maine Department of Health and Human Services working on a broad range of projects to include injury prevention research, outbreak investigations, coordination of vaccination clinics and evaluation of surveillance and disease control programs. Spent time overseas assisting with a clinical trial in Madagascar. (2005-2007). Numerous presentations at scientific meetings.
