Maine Department of Human Services, Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention Augusta, ME August 2001 – Present Director, Office Of Public Health Informatics, Integrated Public Health Information System: Direct development of strategic informatics planning and management structure for MCDC; develop IT portfolio management and agency prioritization and decision-making structures; Direct all aspects of development, implementation and deployment of the MCDC’s comprehensive public health integrated data system Direct Maine Common Ground for improving public health preparedness processes. Director, Maine Immunization Program: Direct all aspects of statewide Immunization Program. Oversee program planning, development and evaluation; provide budget oversight Medical Care Development, Inc., Augusta, ME November 1999 – August 2001 Project Director, Maine Women’s Health Campaign; Maine Consortium for Clinical Office System Improvement: Develop, implement and monitor programs to improve the well-being of Maine residents. Build relationships with public and private funders. Write grant proposals, perform policy development and legislative advocacy leading to procurement of $200,000 in new funds for FY 2000. Oversee contract administration and performance monitoring. Collaborated to design public health programs; provided technical assistance with budget preparation, evaluation design. Staffed Chicago’s nationally recognized Violence Prevention Strategic Planning Project. Planning Consultant, 5/95 - 8/95: Researched and wrote the Robert Taylor Initiative Working Paper, a comprehensive plan to improve the well-being of residents in one of the nation’s most impoverished housing developments. Synthesized epidemiological, socio-economic, administrative data from health programs and surveillance reports. Performed qualitative process assessment. Developed and refined program goals, objectives and activities. Consulted on public health and prevention theory. Provided technical assistance for program budget, evaluation.
