Biographical Sketch:
Started in Public Health 12.5 years ago at Kansas City, MO HD as DIS (disease intervention specialist) in the STD clinic for 2 yrs; worked in STD surveillance for 1 year, promoted to Public Health Specialist II in Communicable Disease Prevention surveillance and investigation for 3 years. During that time, STD, CD and TB were all combined and all staff were cross trained. Promoted to newly created Epidemiology Specialist position following 9/11 to do continue surveillance work and to work with the planners in developing BT and eventually all-hazards plans. Serve as co-chair of the Regional Public Health Epidemiology Surveillance Isolation and Quaratine Task Force serving the bi-state Kansas City metropolitan area.
