Biographical Sketch:
Ms. Eckerson is currently assigned to the CDC’s National Center for Public Health Informatics, Division of Informatics Shared Services, as Lead Information Architect. Most recently she has served the Vocabulary Services team as Information Architect of the VADS Redesign project. An active member of HL7, she serves as co-chair of that organization’s Public Health and Emergency Response Special Interest Group. A part-time student working on a Masters of Science in Public Health, she has over 20 years of real world experience in software development and implementation, focused on database design, performance, and tuning. Kristi’s experience covers a broad spectrum of industries including application and enterprise systems development for health care, manufacturing and distribution, telecommunications, retail, and finance/investment concerns. She has developed high volume data entry systems, as well as on-line analytic processing databases, and several data warehouse/data mart implementations.
