Biographical Sketch:
President of Starbourne Communications Design, Rex Brooks graduated from the University of California Berkeley. His career in Advertising led to a second career aimed at improving the art and science of communications.
l Rex's applies business and reporting experience communicating about and applying technology in private & public sectors. He works on creating information technology standards as part of industry-wide teams. Rex aims to improve individual information quality and control in digital information technology.
l Rex currently serves on several Information Standards and Research bodies including the National Center for Ontological Research (NCOR) Committee on Ontology for Health Informatics and the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) on the Emergency Management Technical Committee (TC), the International Health Continuum TC and the Service Oriented Architecture Reference Model TC. These activities contribute to improving interoperability of vocabularies and data models within and across disciplines.
