Biographical Sketch:
Kathleen Cook manages LLCHD’s Division of IFM that she established in 2003. Currently she develops, coordinates, and administers department budge and fiscal services, facilities, information technology, and general business activities. She has 20 years of experience as the department’s CIO and CFO, 28 years of local public health experience, and 25 years of informatics-related experience. This includes program management of 20 or more major information technology projects. Both her leadership and collaborative project experience is evident from her coordination of the community planning and compilation of: Healthy People 2010 Health Objectives for the Year 2010 for Lincoln & Lancaster County Nebraska (2000) and the Mental Health Addendum (2002). Ms. Cook’s credentials include: (1) Reviewer for RWJF Information Links grant program; (2) Expert Reviewer of “Knowledge Management for Public Health Professionals” (January 2005 publication of ASTHO); (3) Recipient of NACCHO’s Model Practice designation for the development and implementation of an Information Integration Process; (4) National Association of Public Health Information Technology Executive Committee; (5) NACCHO representative on the Public Health Data Standards Consortium Board of Directors; and (6) NACCHO Informatics Workgroup.
