Biographical Sketch:
Shuying Shen received her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Alberta (Canada). She then went on to complete her Master of Statistics degree in Biostatistics at the University of Utah. She is currently a biostatistician in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Her primary research interests are statistical methods for public health surveillance, longitudinal/multi-level data, and web mining with focus on personalization. Topics she is working on or has worked on include evaluation and improvement of surveillance system using simulation and real data, data mining of log files of web-based health care applications, and inverse probability weighting (IPW) estimation.
