Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Keller received his doctorate degree in microbiology & immunology, with a specialization in molecu-lar virology. Dr. Keller continued his work in molecular virology as a National Research Council Post-Doctoral Fellow at the United States Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Disease (USAMRIID) in Ft. Detrick, MD. Dr. Keller’s work at USAMRIID focused on developing high through-put assays to detect therapeutic compounds that inhibit the activity of the Ebola virus RNA-dependent RNA-polymerase. Currently, Dr. Keller is serving as a project manager for the National Cancer Institute Center for Bioin-formatics’ (NCICB) cancer Bioinformatics Grid (caBIG) project. Dr. Keller is responsible for managing the activities of the caBIG Architecture Workspace (WS) and Vocabularies and Common Data Elements Workspace (VCDE WS). The Architecture and VCDE Workspaces are responsible for developing the standards based grid infrastructure that provides the framework for semantic and syntactic interopera-bility within caBIG™. Dr. Keller is responsible for providing the necessary stakeholder management, technical management, financial and contractual management, project management and scientific expertise to realize the collaborative community, technical infrastructure, and tools that exist in caBIG™ today.
