-- BA French Literature, University of California at Berkeley, 1966 -- Peace Corps, Ivory Coast, 1966-68 -- MD Dartmouth Medical School, 1973 -- Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease -- 1976-1985: Medical Officer CDC; Assignments with State HD as well as at CDC HQ (TB Control Division) -- 1985-86: Medical Epidemiologist, Expanded Programme on Immunization, WHO Geneva (Switzerland) -- 1986-1989: Faculty at University of Geneva School of Medicine --1990-present: Medical epidemiologist, Bureau of Disease Control, South Carolina Dept of Health; Faculty appointments at USC School of Public Health (Courses in Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Emerging Infectious Diseases etc.) and with MPH program, University of Geneva -- Numerous consultantcies for WHO, UNICEF, USAID and other organizations -- Frequent presenter at professional meetings -- Professional focus on application of biomedical knowledge , epidemiological concepts, biostatistical methods, and computer tools to communicable disease control programs. -- Special interest in use of simple appropriate public domain software in a variety of US and international public health settings, including their use for AVR of data extracted from PHIN compliant systems such as the NEDSS Base System (NBS) and TIMS.
