Biographical Sketch:
David Cardenas is the Director of Public Health Informatics for the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health. In his current role, Mr. Cardenas is responsible for the development of information technology solutions to support the critical business needs of the department. He also serves as manager for the implementation of a secure, integrated information technology architecture to support responses to bioterrorism and other types of public health emergencies. Prior to his involvement in information technology initiatives, David served as lead epidemiologist for the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program where he was charged with supporting epidemiologic response and supporting the development of enhanced surveillance systems for bioterrorism.
