Biographical Sketch:
Michael Berry has over eight years’ professional experience in application development and project management. He has staffed and managed public health information systems projects for clients in Philadelphia, New York City, and Rhode Island. He began programming for the World Wide Web in its infancy, and most of his career has been devoted to development using web technologies, with a special focus on data security and personal digital assistants (PDAs). He was the lead programmer for New York City’s Online Registry, and managed a number of initiatives to improve Rhode Island’s KIDSNET, including the deployment of KIDSNET on the Web. Most recently, Mike led the collaborative development of the All Kids Count PDA Registry application, a PDA-based interface to immunization registries using HL7. Having worked on provider surveys in four states, Mike is very familiar with the challenges of data collection, data quality, and provider participation in immunization registries.
