Biographical Sketch:
Valerie first joined NACCHO in June of 2002 as a Program Associate on the Environmental Health Team. Valerie Rogers is currently a Program Manager for NACCHO’s Land Use Planning program. Valerie is also responsible for expansion, promotion, and implementation activities for NACCHO’s Community Environmental Health Assessment Project, including coordination of PACE EH and PACE EH in Practice activities. Since joining NACCHO, Valerie has been involved in the research, and development of NACCHO’s Environmental Health Workforce Development agenda which includes cultivation of cultural competency and environmental justice presentations and educational modules, development of resource compendiums, peer assistance networks, case studies and literature reviews. Valerie brings a unique perspective of environmental justice, health disparities, and interdisciplinary collaboration to the project given her prior experience working with grassroots communities on environmental justice issues related to zoning and transportation planning.
