Biographical Sketch:
Wu Xu, Ph.D. is the Director for Office of Public Health Informatics in the Utah Department of Health. She is Co-Investigators for the CDC-funded Utah Center for Excellences in Public Health Informatics and CMS-funded Medicaid Transformation Grant. From 2001 to June 2007, Dr. Xu has directed the Utah Office of Health Care Statistics, developed and managed the statewide health care administrative database and led the transparency reporting on health care quality, safety and cost for consumers. Wu has over 10-year experiences in public health surveillance and informatics and led several multi-state projects. She has publications in peer-reviewed journals/government reports. She has also served on various national workgroups or advisory panel. Dr. Xu received her Ph.D. from Utah State University in 1996 in Logan, Utah with an emphasis of health and demography in sociology.
