Grand Hall/Exhibit Hall
There are many thoughts and perspectives on the meaning, nature and the “real value” of Health Information Technology and Information Sharing (Public Health Informatics). There are also a wide number of existing and emerging technologies, technological processes and information dissemination procedures that are complicating the practice of health informatics itself. As the health information sharing technologies, processes, tools and techniques become more interconnected and as a result more complicated, the use of a simplified if not a more “common sense” approach to effectively managing the group decision making process utilized by the jurisdictional Communities of Practice, is critical for the Informatician. The presentation will explore the functions, dysfunctions and the commonalities of decision making across jurisdictional programs; processes; policies and procedures, and discuss the use of structured problem solving models to drive efficient; effective; timely and successful decision making within and across jurisdictional Communities of Practice.
